The FH-Heidelberg Team is taking part in the Event ELROB2006. The team is composed of members of the FH Heidelberg, especially of the following departments: - Electrical Engineering, - Mechanical Engineering, - Computer Sciences and - Industrial Engineering, and of members of the DaimlerChrysler AG. The FH Heidelberg Team is supported by the DaimlerChrysler AG, and various other companies that contribute hard and software to the project. Our vehicle is called G500 and is a commercial car that was modified primarily with existing commercial technology for handicapped people for navigation and operation. All processing takes place in modules of industrial embedded computers. The vehicle incorporates measurements units such as GPS, ultrasonic sensors, acceleration sensors, infra red sensors, and cameras for navigation. All sensors acquire environment data at rates between 10 Hz and 1 MHz. The development of our G500 started in October 2005 |
